Donate Goods & Services

Part of what makes Island Trails Network successful is contributions from our members.  As we are a 501(c)3 non-profit, cash and other items of value may be tax deductible.  We will respond to any donation of value of $25 or more with a letter recognizing the donation and the estimated value of the item(s).

Unrestricted Cash Donations

We invite donations year-round to cover our general operating expenses including office rent, utilities, and basic professional services such as bookkeeping.

Labor

We are soliciting individual and groups of volunteers to help complete the Near Island Phase III trail on Near Island. All volunteers must be supervised by ITN staff, and we have limited staff availability so please contact ITN to arrange a volunteer event. Larger groups are appreciated, and much of the work remaining involves hauling gravel.

We are seeking an organizational sponsor for a program we conceived in 2012, the Kodiak CoastWalk Marine Debris Clean-up Program.  Volunteers or groups of volunteers adopt a beach, clean it up on an agreed upon schedule and return the bagged marine debris for recycling.  ITN can continue to offer temporary storage and disposal of marine debris removed by this program, but we do not have the staffing nor volunteer resources to fully support it.  A nonprofit organization willing to take this program on would receive a full briefing on program operations, past clean-up results, forms, maps, and sourcing for clean-up materials.

For those interested in grant-writing, we gladly consider grant proposals written on ITN's behalf which serve ITN's strategic goals or mission statement.  Due to limited staff availability we may have to provide the grantwriter with past grant documents or other language suitable for illustration who we are and what we do to potential donors.  As such, general operating grants (rather than project grants) are often the best fit for pro-bono grant writers.  Please contact us to discuss potential projects before beginning work.

We try to accommodate volunteers who are looking to fulfill court-ordered community service requirements on a case-by-case basis.

Equipment

We welcome donations of equipment which is in good working order and has been properly serviced and maintained.  This includes vehicles, trailers, heavy equipment, and all tools associated with servicing and maintaining vehicles and small engines.  For our office space, we are seeking computers (Win 7 or newer, 2 GHZ or faster), flat screen monitors, and a 4-person       meeting table with 4 chairs (the maximum size that will fit in our office).

Supplies

We are currently seeking donations of shovels, buckets with handles, and supersacks in good condition.

Materials

We are accepting donations of gravel (D-1 or pit run), stringers and beams in lengths of 20' or greater for bridge construction, hardwoods for trail sign stock, geotextile fabric, and any construction materials that may be useful for trail structures.  Please contact ITN prior to delivery.  All materials are delivered by donor unless alternative arrangements can be made with ITN.
