National Trails Day
June 6th 2026
We’re excited to have you join us for a fun and rewarding day on
June 6th, At Fort Abercrombie State Historical Park
Trail Work 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m
BBQ and Community Potluck 5:30-7:00
We’ll meet at the Fort Abercrombie Ranger Station to kick things off!
Before You Start:
All volunteers must check in at the Ranger Station, sign a waiver, and get a quick overview before heading out. Minors will need a guardian present to sign for them. There are 2-3 sites around the park targeted for improvements; check in and we will make sure you are where you need to be.
What to Expect:
Island Trails Network will have all the tools and gloves you’ll need—no experience necessary! Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome. We need greeters, BBQ'ers, gravel and shovel lifters, and more.
What to Bring:
-
A water bottle
-
Clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty
-
Xtra Tuffs or rainboots
-
Your trail-loving spirit!
Flexible Participation
Can’t stay the whole time? No problem! Volunteers are welcome to arrive and leave at any time during the event.
Perks:
We’ll keep you fueled with light snacks, water, and plenty of good company—and you’ll leave with a sense of pride and belonging, knowing you helped maintain trails that mean so much to us all.
